Strange name... Serious wine.
Wine [noun] fermented grape juice used as an alcoholic beverage.
Here at DOWIE DOOLE, we believe that wine is a form of art; a companion to a breadth of events, the perfect match to that meal, the well received gift and the drink that tantalises all kinds of taste buds. DOWIE DOOLE has been working for 20 years to produce and present rich, high quality wine that is well loved and remembered. As we always say - Strange name... Serious wine!
DOWIE DOOLE came to fruition in 1995, when grape growers Drew Dowie and Norm Doole joined forces with veteran wine marketer and grower, Leigh Gilligan. They realised from the start that the strength of DOWIE DOOLE was the suite of widely-varying premium vineyards that the founders could draw upon.
20 years later, DOWIE DOOLE is still committed to growing, producing and marketing premium classic regional wines from McLaren Vale, South Australia, using fruit grown predominantly by the three partners. Some of the finest and earliest planted vineyard sites in McLaren Vale are now home to the DOWIE DOOLE family vineyards.
