Shiraz and McLaren Vale are synonymous, the region’s climate and soils naturally enabling rich, flavoursome expressions of this classic variety. Fruit, sourced exclusively from our three Estate Vineyards, is used to produce the Dowie Doole Shiraz. Special sites in their own right, each Vineyard contributes unique characters to the finished wine, from lifted spice to supple dark fruits and fine, toothsome tannins that suggest a long life in bottle.
Colour: Rich dark crimson with a bright red hue.
Nose: Unmistakable McLaren Vale Shiraz bouquet: sweet plums, dark cherries, cloves, spices, with subtle oak notes.
Palate: The palate is rich and full with layers of dark fruits, plums, chocolate-mocha, aniseed and subtle spice. The 18 months of oak maturation has further added complexity and a finely integrated tannin backbone.
